Have you heard of Matchamisu? It is an Italian-Japanese fusion, a combination of Italian temperament and Japanese tradition, i.e. matcha green tea.
Matcha tiramisu is a unique and delicious variation on the classic Italian dessert. Tiramisu is a layered dessert that usually consists of sponge cakes soaked in espresso and liqueur, a creamy filling of mascarpone cheese and sugar, and cocoa sprinkles. By adding matcha powder to the mixture, matcha tiramisu adds a refined and earthy flavor to the sweet and creamy layers.
Matcha is a high-quality green tea powder that is appreciated for its complex and nutty flavor, as well as its high levels of antioxidants and other beneficial compounds. Matcha used in tiramisu adds a vibrant green color and a delicate tea flavor that perfectly complements the sweet and creamy layers.
Preparing matcha tiramisu is relatively simple and requires only a few ingredients. The sponge cakes are soaked in a mixture of matcha, espresso and liqueur, and then layered with a mixture of mascarpone cheese, sugar and eggs. The result is a creamy and decadent dessert with a light green color and a delicate tea flavor.
