Matcha Papanasi

Ingredients:

  • 250 g of semi-skimmed cottage cheese
  • egg
  • 3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 150 g of wheat flour + for sprinkling
  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 3 teaspoons @ matcha.bros
  • a teaspoon of baking powder
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • Accessories:
  • 150 g of homogenized cheese + teaspoon @matcha.bros
  • jam, e.g. cherry jam
  • icing sugar

Matcha Papanasi - donuts

Preparation:

  1. Crush the cottage cheese in a bowl, add the egg, flour, cream, carrots, baking powder and sugar. Knead the dough briefly, just until the ingredients are combined.
  2. Place the dough on a floured surface. Roll out to a thickness of approx. 0.5 cm. Use a cookie cutter to cut out donuts (diameter approx. 8-10 cm), making a smaller hole in the middle (e.g. with a chasen).
  3. Place the doughnuts and balls into the heated fat. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side until the donuts are golden brown.
  4. Drain the fat using a paper towel.
  5. Spread the browned donuts with sour cream and additions. Decorate with jam and top with a cheese ball. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
